Ladakh Training Update

I have been BUSY! Running has always been a component of training for my treks and climbs but this year I decided to start competing in some local races, and I’ve become addicted. I have been fortunate enough to gain some amazing sponsors for my endeavors. Namely the folks at C2O coconut water who are funding my races for 2012 and who supplied me with an incredible Specialized brand mountain bike so that I can also compete in triathlons! In addition I have product sponsors Udo’s Oil and Vega Sport who are also enhancing my fitness with their supplements and sport nutrition lines. On top of all that, every time I beat a race goal time, C2O is going to donate additional monies to the Breast Cancer Fund. Yikes! Now the pressure is on and I’m nervous! But I’m training hard with the help of 3 different coaches and one personal trainer, all of whom are donating their time and expertise to help me. I am so blessed.
Of course the real reason for all of this is to get in shape for Ladakh (we’ll be climbing to 17,400 feet) and to raise money for the Breast Cancer Fund. I’m only half way to my fundraising goal of $5000.00 so it’s time for me to elicit your sympathies and sensibilities again and hand out my contact info’ and website address so that you can donate to this worthy organization!  Remember, I pay all my own expenses so 100% of your donation goes to the Breast Cancer Fund.
The Breast Cancer Fund’s mission:
“In response to the public health crisis of breast cancer, the Breast Cancer Fund identifies — and advocates for elimination of — the environmental and other preventable causes of the disease.”
To those of you who have already donated I offer a HUGE thank you. For the rest of you, you have until July 1st. And remember, no amount is too small. Even $5.00 donations add up.
