Back at the Crater
It's been awhile since I trained at the Crater so I didn't know how I'd do. This morning I decided to just run the supply trail since it's a bit lower down and only 5 miles round trip. I guess the beach running and intervals have helped though, because I felt great and moved pretty quickly. Not a record but I made good time to the rim. I flushed pheasant every mile or so. I could see Molokai. The clear air was a welcome relief after so many voggy days. Gorgeous sunshine warmed me as I sat scarfing my apple and Justin's Maple Almond Butter. Thanks to Justin's, by the way, for donating product for my hike and for my silent auction. I'm busy preparing for the March 8th fundraiser at Flatbread and have been gathering goodies to auction off. So many people have been so generous besides Justin's. Earth Friendly, Burt's Bees, Alba, Jason, Jimmy Lewis, Food Should Taste Good, Gia Russa, Republic of Tea. It's going to be an awesome night.
